Dopamine
Dopamine have a unique blend of big riffs and melodic vocals that has to heard to be understood. From a small town just outside of Cardiff, South Wales Dopamine rose in 2000 from the ashes of two local bands with the aim of bringing something fresh and innovative to the scene. In their early 20?s, friends since school days, the band consists of Neil on vocals and guitar, Jim on bass and Sam on drums.
Live shows are raw and fuelled with passion and energy. Many successful live shows have been played with the likes of Funeral For A Friend, Hiding With Girls, McLusky and Lostprophets and more will follow especially as they have started playing shows across Britain; Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester and London to name a few.
Dopamine takes influence from an eclectic mix of artists; Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, Dashboard Confessional and Glassjaw to name a few and an appreciation of genius?s such as Stevie Wonder and Lionel Richie. All have played part in the inimitable sound that Dopamine now create.
Dopamine are set to release their debut EP through ?You and Whose Army? Records? on the 31st May 2003. Recorded with Lostprophets bassist, Stuart Richardson in March 2003 this CD features some of Dopamine?s most accomplished tracks to date. With this release, Dopamine hope to take their sound to a wider audience and of course,do more of what they love best - performing for people.
